Massage Therapy

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the most common form of therapeutic massage used in the UK. It has many benefits to a clients health and well being.

The term “Swedish Massage” refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones.

The main purpose of Swedish Massage is to increase oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It stretches & realigns muscles, tendons & ligaments, keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both physical and emotional, and is very effective in a regular program for stress management.

Sports & Remedial Massage

This type of massage uses a lot of the same techniques as in Swedish Massage, however the intensity is greater and some more advanced techniques are employed to rectify specific muscular problems. Despite the title, the usefulness of this treatment extends beyond just athletes. Anyone suffering from chronic pain, injury or restricted range of motion, can benefit  from this type of massage.
